1. Waimea Falls // Pupukea North Shore

Discover the majestic beauty of Waimea Falls, a natural attraction on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. Explore the lush gardens and take a refreshing dip swimming in the freshwater pool beneath the falls. Experience the charm of Waimea Falls  for an unforgettable adventure in paradise. Waimea Valley holds great cultural and historical importance to the native Hawaiian people.

  • Location: Waimea Valley on the north shore of Oahu, near the town of Haleiwa and Kalani Hawaii Private Lodging. The park is home to botanical gardens, cultural sites, and the famous Waimea Falls. It’s perfect for families and children.
  • Activities: Swimming and hiking. 
  • Facilities: Snaks, parking lot and restrooms.
  • Hours:  Closed Mondays 
    Open 9 am – 4 pm Tuesday through Sunday.
  • Admission: From $25. There is an admission fee to enter Waimea Valley Park, which helps support its preservation and maintenance. 

2. Manoa Falls// Northeast Of Honolulu

Manoa Falls its the biggest waterfall on Oahu is a captivating natural wonder with a 150-foot-tall waterfall cascading down a cliff face into a serene pool. Surrounded by lush vegetation, this picturesque sight is a favorite among visitors. However, swimming is prohibited due to safety concerns and the risk of flash floods. Embark on a moderate 1.6-mile hike through the enchanting rainforest to experience the beauty of Manoa Falls. The falls are known for their natural beauty and are a favorite spot for nature enthusiasts and hikers

  • Location: Manoa Falls is situated within the lush rainforest of the Manoa Valley, approximately five miles northeast of downtown Honolulu.
  • Acitivities: Hiking and picnic. Swimming is not allowed.
  • Facilities: Trail, parking area, restrooms.

3. Laie Falls // Eastern Cost

A free permit is required to access this trail.

The waterfall is situated in the lush rainforest of the Laie trail, which is known for its natural beauty and scenic views. To reach Laie Falls, you would typically start at the trailhead located near Laie Point. The trail itself is moderately challenging, with some steep sections and muddy terrain, so it’s recommended to wear proper hiking shoes and bring water and snacks.

  • Location: Easter coast of Oahu, near the town of Laie.
  • Activities: Hiking
  • Facilities: Trail, No restrooms

4. Lulumahu Falls // Northeast Of Honolulu

Lulumahu Falls is a popular waterfall located in the Nu’uanu Valley on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. The falls are nestled within a lush and scenic hiking trail, making it a favorite spot for nature enthusiasts and hikers. To reach Lulumahu Falls, you’ll need to embark on a roughly 1.6-mile (2.6 kilometers) hike through the trail. The hike can be moderately challenging at times, with some muddy sections and uneven terrain, so wearing appropriate footwear and being prepared is recommended. Along the trail, you’ll pass through a beautiful bamboo forest and cross a small stream multiple times. The trail eventually leads to Lulumahu Stream, where the waterfall is located. Lulumahu Falls stands approximately 50 feet (15 meters) tall and features a refreshing pool at its base, surrounded by rocks and vegetation.

  • Location: Nu’uanu Valley. From the Pali Highway (Hwy 61), take the Old Pali Road exit (Nuuanu Pali Drive). Follow the Old Pali Road until it loops back onto the Pali Hwy.
  • Activities: Hiking
  • Facilities: Parking is located right off of the Pali Highway before the lookout in a dirt parking lot. Trail, No restrooms.
  • Admission: Visitors must make reservations before visiting this site.

5. Waimano Falls// Northeast Of Honolulu

Waimano Falls, also known as Waimano Pool, is a popular hiking and swimming destination located on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. It is situated in the Waimano Valley, near the town of Pearl City.
To reach Waimano Falls, you need to hike along the Waimano Trail, which begins at the end of Waimano Home Road. The trail is approximately 3 miles long and can be moderately challenging in certain sections, with uneven terrain and some steep inclines. It typically takes around 1.5 to 2 hours to complete the hike, depending on your pace and fitness level.

Along the trail, you’ll pass through lush vegetation, including bamboo forests and native plants. The trail follows the stream, and there are several points where you can stop and enjoy smaller waterfalls and pools. Eventually, you’ll reach Waimano Falls, which features a larger waterfall and a deep pool where visitors can swim and cool off.

  • Location: Waimano Valley, near the town of Pearl City.
  • Activities: Hiking and Swimming
  • Facilities: No restrooms. There is limited street parking.
